Dental Implants
Have you lost some or all of your teeth? Do you have difficulty eating the foods you enjoy?
Dental implants will not only give you your smile back, but will restore your confidence so you’ll be able to laugh and enjoy foods like you once did.
Dental implants are so natural that you won't even be able to tell you ever had a missing tooth. The procedure is simpler than you think and once your implants are in place you can continue your normal life the very next day.
If it’s pain that worries you, then fear not. Most of our patients say that the procedure is far less painful than they imagined and that the down time for the healing process is minimal.
If you are considering dental implants, then here at Nith Place we have several options to suit everyone.
If you need more information from our experienced clinician, Dr Hemant Yadav, then book a free consultation with us and we’ll happily listen to your needs and provide a bespoke solution for you.
Dr Yadav has undertaken extensive postgraduate studies in dental implants, using both Dentsply and Avinent systems. He achieved a Masters in Dental Implantology from Salford University and has travelled to Europe and the USA to keep up-to-date with the latest techniques.
Dental Implant Surgery
If, after a free consultation, you decide you want to continue your treatment with us, we will schedule a clinical consultation where we will perform an in-depth analysis. This consultation will compromise of a complete dental examination of your existing teeth and gums, digital photographs of the inside and outside of the mouth, all clinical X-rays and in some cases a CT scan.
We will then present all of our findings back to you and discuss in detail any issues. We'll advise you of all treatment options, giving our expert recommendations. Following this, we will work with you to formulate a bespoke treatment plan to provide you with the best possible solution.
The Dental Implant Process
1) Implant Placement
Our implant surgeon will apply a local anaesthetic and implant a titanium post into the jaw bone, in the location of the missing tooth. This procedure is quick – lasting between one and two hours - and relatively painless due to the local anaesthetic. You may experience a small amount discomfort following the placement of the implant but this will subside and healing will occur relatively quickly.
2) Biological Integration
Biological Integration is when the implant integrates with the bone. It is usually expected to occur within 8 – 12 weeks. In a very small amount of cases, this integration may take up to a year. When the implant has integrated with the bone it will provide a strong and stable platform for the new crown or bridge.
3) Restoring the Implant
Once your implant has integrated with the bone, we are then able to restore the implant. After taking moulds of the position of the implants, the final ‘teeth’ can be individually designed, made and cemented or screwed into the implant. Once in place, they will look, feel and function as a natural tooth.
